Milan is a city that offers endless possibilities for excursions: out of town or in, half-day jaunts or trips lasting several nights. The only real regret is perhaps not having enough time to see everything: historic buildings and monuments, museums, lakes, mountains, cities of art and gourmet food and wine routes.
In town you can pick any number of traditional cultural or leisure itineraries: Classical Milan, Medieval Milan, Art Nouveau Milan, Milan’s Museums, Shopping in Milan!
Less than an hour’s drive away lies Lake Como with its breathtaking scenery. Bergamo old town is also worth a visit; behind its towering medieval walls it conceals delightful old streets and churches. Don’t forget the Certosa di Pavia either, or Vigevano, where you will find one of Italy’s most strikingly beautiful colonnaded squares.
Milan is also the ideal departure point for other celebrated Italian destinations such as Portofino, Pisa, Venice, Verona, Florence and Mantua. All less than 3 hours away.
