The old town
Milan is proud of its artistic heritage, of which Leonardo’s Last Supper is only the best-known masterpiece.
2,400 years of history have left a rich legacy: archaeological remains, Roman basilicas, early Christian mosaics, Gothic cathedrals, Art Nouveau monuments and world-class museums displaying works of art that include sculptures by Michelangelo and paintings by Picasso.
And don’t worry if you are pushed for time, because the great thing about Milan is that you can find an amazing number of attractions right in the centre of town. All within walking distance.
